    AntiVirus Software Download      Spyware     Safe Computing Tips 

    The North Dakota University System has an agreement with Network Associates that allows faculty, staff, and  students to use McAfee or Virex software on their computers on campus or at home.Follow these instructions for downloading and installing McAfee anti virus software:

    To download the antivirus software you must have a valid DSU email address.

    1. If you don’t have one, visit http://enroll.nodak.edu to activate your email account. If you experience  any problems, please visit DSU Computer Services, May Hall Room 12 or visit E-MAIL HELP for more information.

    2. Visit http://its.ndsu.nodak.edu

    3. Click on "Software Downloads" as shown below.

     

      

      4. This will take you to page as shown in the picture below. Enter your IID and Password and click on “Login” button. For example: If your Email Address at DSU is Todd.Hauf@dsu.nodak.edu  or Todd.Hauf@dickinsonstate.edu , enter Todd.Hauf as your IID.

     

      Note: If you experience problems logging in at this point, you probably forgot your password or you donot have an active account. Visit Computer Services located in May Hall Room 12 or Click here for more information.

      5. After a successful logon, you will see a screen as shown below. Click on your operating System.

      

 

     6. Choose the Software based on your Operating System.

     

     7. You may see a pop up window as shown below.

            

     8. Select an appropriate folder to download as show below.

         

     9. Once the download is complete, click on open.

         

     10. Click on Extract all files as shown below.

    21.   That should be it. After updating itself with new DAT files and/or scan engine, a scan of your computers hard drive will be done. If you experience any problems in this whole procedure, please visit Computer Services located in May Hall, Room 12.
