STOP! PLEASE
READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH.

If you need to update and/or change any data that you have previously
provided to us on an
Application for Graduation (for example the degree you are seeking,
the major or minor you
are seeking, the semester you will graduate, addresses, phone numbers,
etc.), please DO NOT
submit another Application for Graduation form. You must however, contact
the Office of Academic
Records, and let us know of your graduation data changes.
EXCEPTION: If your initial application was rejected because you failed
to meet the minimum credit
requirements indicated on the next page, you must submit another Application
for Graduation

Dear Graduation Applicant:
Thank you for submitting your application for graduation.
As an applicant for graduation, it is your responsibility to review
your academic transcript and monitor
specific degree requirements in order to be assured of meeting Dickinson
State University’s graduation
requirements. Following is a list of some of those academic requirements.
Please read them carefully.
Since it is your responsibility to monitor completion of these requirements,
it is important that you fully
understand them. Therefore, if after you have reviewed the information
listed below you don’t understand
any portion of it, stop by the Office of Academic Records for clarification.
THE “64”, “128”, OR “149” CREDIT RULES
In order to be awarded an Associate Degree, a student
must have earned a minimum of 64 total credits. In
order to be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree, the student must have
earned a minimum of 128 credits. In
order to be awarded two Bachelor Degrees (EXAMPLE BA & BS), the
student must have earned a
minimum of 149 total credits.
THE “16” OR “32” CREDIT HOUR RULES
In order to be awarded an Associate Degree from DSU, the student must
have earned a minimum of 16
credits from DSU. In order to be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree from
DSU, the student must have earned a
minimum of 32 credits from DSU
THE “32 UPPER DIVISON” RULE
In order to be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree from DSU,
a student must have earned a minimum of 32
semester hours of UPPER DIVISION (LEVEL 300 or 400) credits for this
particular degree. The upper
level credits do not necessarily need to be DSU credits. Upper level
credits are not required for Associate
Degree recipients.
If, after you have submitted this application, you change your mind
about any data that you have provided
(for example the degree you are seeking, major or minor you are seeking,
semester you will graduate,
addresses, phone numbers, etc.), please DO NOT submit another application.
Instead, contact the Office
of Academic Records, and let us know of your graduation changes.
