Latest
infrared, magnetic and x-ray Sun images. The icon presents a typical
infrared image of the solar surface taken at a wavelength of He I 10830
A. Such full size actual images are available via Internet from National
Solar Observatory almost every day.

All about
HST including Latest Discoveries. The icon presents a HST view
of very young galaxy that existed in this form about twelve billions years
ago. The galaxy is visible as a small "cloud" to the right and slightly
down of large white blob with four diagonal spikes, which is a quasar.
The galaxy was discovered in September 1994.

Astronomy
Picture of the Day selected by Robert Nemiroff (NASA) are featuring
the best and most educational photographs in astronomy.
Info on Hubble's Constant and
the Age of Universe
-
What is Hubble's Constant.
The icon is a HST image of M-100 galaxy in Virgo cluster. Discovery
of cepheids (variable stars) there made possible to determine Hubble's
constant and the age of Universe.
-
Measurements of Hubble's Constant.
During the 1920's, Edwin Hubble working with observations from the Mount Wilson Observatory discovered that the Universe is expanding.
