Dickinson State University- Internships

Internships

Students can receive up to 9 hours of credit for accounting or business internships. These involve working full or part-time in an accounting or business position, usually for pay, during your Junior or Senior year at DSU. Students must have a 2.75 grade point average and be pre-approved by the department chairman, Roger Kilwein, prior to starting an internship. An internship is not required for an accounting degree, but it is strongly encouraged.

Students can go out and find their own internship or the school can assist in this process. The department only fills a couple of internships and these are very competitive to get into. If you want an internship you should do very well in your accounting classes and let all of your professors know that you are interested in an internship.

Students should also stay in touch with Ms. Bonnie Bohlman, Director of Career Services, 206 May Hall, 483-2370. Her office coordinates all internships for DSU.

Application forms and more information may be obtained from Ms Twila Petersen in the business department office, 315 Stickney Hall, 483-2333. Or follow the link below.
