4-26-93 Econ 106 2:00-M F. Quijano
Fernando - I seem to enjoy the class a lot. I had never had an economics class before this one.
So everything I leaned was totally new information to me. I seemed to understand all you taught
during class but when it came to the tests I felt lost and confused. I would probably take another
class from you. I have heard other people talk about other classes you teach that they are in and
they also seem to enjoy them. Maybe after this class I will then be more familiar with your type
of tests.
Fernando - I really enjoyed your class. You were a great teacher and I hope to take other classes from you. I've already taken micro-economics in Minot and to be honest, I didn't learn very much. Everything I've learned has been from you class. You are able to communicate well with the students and you are able to make us understand.
The only complaint I have is the tests. They are kind of hard. Before a test, I feel like I know all
the information and I feel like I'll get and "A", but once the test comes, I get confuse and the
answers seem a lot like each other. They seem very similar and I find it hard to get the questions
right. But all in all, I loved your class and you did a great job teaching it.
Fernando Buddy ol pal -
Your class was great! I really didn't have an understanding of it but it was fun to come to class
just to see how much you knew!
He is a very good teacher, it was hard to understand him at first but now I can. I think it is great
that a small college like ours has the opportunity to have ethnic variety in the instructors that are
very dedicated to their work.
I would have to say out of total seriousness that Quijano is the best instructor that I have had
here. Not only was he a good teacher but a great individual as well. Not only did he make the
class interesting but he make it fun as well. If I come back next year I will definitely take Micro
from him.
Mr. Quijano is a great, excitable teacher. He really gets students into a learning mood. He is friendly, and always has a smile when in class.
I really respect Fernando and do plan on taking another class next year from him. I am enrolled in two of his courses now and find them challenging yet fun & interesting.
I feel that Fernando is probably my most favorite teacher.
This course was taught very well. I felt the test were difficult mainly because of the wording
presented on the test compared to what I had in my notes. I will be taking Micro-Economics
from Fernando next Fall, and would encourage anyone who has to take Economics to take it from
Fernando.
He has a very thorough knowledge of Macro economics. Communication between the students
was fairly good and it if anyone had questions he would take time to answer them. Test
questions were somewhat confusing at times but were fair at an average.
I very much enjoyed Econ 106 from Mr. Quijano. His teaching method was easy to understand. He didn't ask to much of his students, just to follow along and read. I feel I have an understanding and better knowledge of economics.
Mr. Quijano is an enthusiastic teacher, and most of all he wants his student to understand. He is
available at anytime for his students.
Mr. Quijano has a very unique and exciting teaching approach. I enjoyed class very much. He
was and is able to teach in a way that makes me want to learn more. I have great respect for him.
He know Economics very well and is very willing to help students. I also feel he respects his
students also, which makes for a great learning experience.
I thought you did a good job of going over the material. But some of this went over my head.
You seem to think we know what you are talking about but we really don't. You kinda talk to
fast for us to understand.
Mr. Quijano is very knowledgeable in this subject; his grading system is very fair. Mr. Quijano
is an instructor who can keep your attention throughout the entire class period. I will be taking
another course thru him.
Mr. Quijano is very intelligent instructor and knows Economics quite well.
I do feel that more homework assignments could help improve some students grades.
Give tests over 2 chapters at a time would also be better. There is so much information in the
chapters that a test over 3 to 4 is overwhelming.
He has too good of knowledge on this subject so when he goes over something he does it too
quickly because its so easy for him-but for those of us who don't understand he goes too fast. He
is very enthusiastic and takes his job seriously. He always tells us its important to him that we
learn about the economy.

Mr. Quijano was a great teacher. He really knows what he's talking about, sometimes too much.
On occasion he world start talking about economics that went way beyond the class'
understanding. Then he couldn't figure out why we didn't understand. Overall he's a fun teacher
and made macro fun.
I think what would really help student in this class would to take note the same way as the test
are not these graph but if you use graph then use these graphs on the test. Other than that I think
he is a really good teacher.
-I feel as if Mr. Quijano has a very good teaching style and has vast knowledge of Economics
-Very friendly, enthusiastic teacher, simply my favorite teacher at DSU.
-I would and am taking more courses from Mr. Quijano.
-Handled Economic teaching much better than my professor at NDSU last semester.
Mr. Quijano is an excellent teacher who has a broad knowledge of the topic concerning
economics. H taught the course better than the book could and made the book seem useless. Mr.
Quijano is one of the better teachers at this college and shows leadership and enthusiasm in his
classes. I would strongly consider another class from him in the near future (this fall). I enjoyed
the semester a lot and hop Mr. Quijano continues his service here at DSU.
Mr. Quiujano is one of the best instructors I have had. He would let the students participate in
lecture/discussion sessions. He was an exciting instructor that never let his classes become to
monotonous, this is what help me to learn. Mr. Quijano was also always their when students
needed help. Whether it be before or after class, in his office or even at his home. In my
opinion, Mr. Quijano went beyond normal teacher roles. I felt he was a great instructor.
The instructor is very knowledgable about this subject. So much so that he cann't understand
why it is so hard for some of his students to understand. He does make himself available to his
students that are having problems. He is very likable.
Mr. Quijano teaches this course very effectively and he is very knowledgeable on the subject.
His tests are challenging but he covers the material on the test very thuroughly.
The course was taught very effectivly. The instructor was very enthusiastic about what he taught
and how the class learned. He was always available for help and was very personable with the
students. He came down to the student level of knowledge and did not ever make the class feel inferior.
This course was interesting. Most of it had to do with the instructor. He is what make the
course interesting and enjoyable. Dr. Q. related well to us as students and people. HE seems to
really enjoy what he was doing and conveyed that to us.
Mr. Quijano I feel did an excellent job in teaching this class. He took a difficult subject and
presented it in an exciting manner. Mr. Quijano's excitement for the material & generally high
spirited teaching approach made attending the class a joy. While I've often oppose following a
date-date syllabus, Mr. Quijano did an excitement job covering the set information. Teaching
must be made fun, Mr. Quijano does this. Economics can be made fun.
I think I should not be evaluating your performance but rather mine right now but at any rate I
can say you got an A because event though I am doing crappy I am still going to take 107 from
him and prove to myself and you that I am not as dumb as you probably think.
I enjoyed the course very much I believe he is a great teacher & I will probably take more
courses from him. I learned more in this one class than I ever did w/the other two economic
courses I've taken before. Very good.
Fernando Quijano is a very enthusiastic, personable instructor. He is always willing to spend time
helping students to understand the course. However, the course is difficult and he has a difficult
time understanding why we don't understand. He does make up for this slight problem by making
himself available. I can honestly say I have a good idea how an economy works, hterefore I
consider him a good teacher.
I thought you taught this class at an extremely advanced level. It is only a general!! You seem to know your stuff to well and we can't keep up with you. Give more tests (or even quizzes) over less material.
* I like the fact that you read the test for reviewing.
