FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON106 SUMMER94

A number of my classes at DSU have been led by instructors who did not require very much, and the effectiveness of their teaching methods could be questioned. Senor Quijano, however, has been an outstanding and energetic instructor. In this class, I have learned a quantity of material and quality of knowledge with a breadth of practical applications and future usefulness. And, if my hearing (which is excellent) can serve as a guide, then I will say that from the moaning and groaning of fellow students this has been a challenge. I have encumbered the financial burden of higher education in order to actually learn and retain something of substance from my classes. This is one class that meets my own rigorous demands for learning. Wimps need not apply!

However, I will state that I am convinced the summer term needs at least 2 weeks of additional class periods, most especially for this class of Macro Economics. It has been a pleasure, old friend!

Overall, I was impressed with this course. The instructor made objectives very clean and articulated them often throughout the course. I did feel that the material was exceptionally difficult for a 100 level course though. I've taken many classes, including graduate level courses and still found the material amply challenging.

I think that the class is too complicated as a freshman level course. When I think of a principles class it should be definitions and getting a thorough understanding of the subject. Right now I'm not sure what we are doing and the comprehension of it.

I enjoyed this class very much! I really think he teaches this course very well. I came into this class with no knowledge of economics at all, even though I struggled through the course and learned a lot, and he made it interesting, and was always ready to help me out when I needed it!

I think the teacher has knowledge above and beyond this course. It is a very difficult class for 100 level (close to 300-400 college level.) Need to be more basic (for100 level) and not so extreme
