FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON107 SPRING94

I think Fernando is tough this is a 100 level course, not a 300 or 400 level! I am doing as much or more for this class than I am for my 300 level courses. Fernando also words his test questions very tricky his tests are always very hard.

Mr. Quijano is a super teacher. Micro-economics isn't a course I would normally enjoy, he makes it exciting with his enthusiasm for the subject. He also gives memorable examples that help you understand the material better.

Too much time is spent developing the mathematics of the course and to little time is spent studying the implications. The course is a little beyond a 100 series course, more like a zoo series. It was interesting and challenging and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the instructor.

This Economics class is very difficult, in terms of the way he presents the material. His notes are very clear and his explanations but when it comes to the test the questions seem to be very differently worded compared to what is in our notes! I have taken 2 semesters of Economics and my knowledge probably has not increased that much! I just don't seem to remember it because we move so fast.

I felt that everything was fine, but grading was questionable. Making the last test worth 40% of the grade was extremely difficult and made class harder than it should have been.

The instructor teaches us in a clear and efficient way. He is always ready for consultation whenever we need, even on the weekends. I should say he has a very strong academic background in the courses he teaches. I learn a lot from his class.
