FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON107 FALL93

Economics is not one of my favorite subjects, but i did enjoy this course. Mr. Quijano makes the class interesting by applying the principles we are learning to everyday examples that pertain to us. It is easy to see that he sincerely cares about his students.

I have taken Macro-Economics from Fernando and enjoyed the class extremely but, Micro (107) was somehow different. When assigned "Take-Home" homework we were allowed to partner-up. When presenting the final copy of homework my partner and I were labeled as not working on assignment together. In response I brought a "rough" copy and proved the partnership. Fernando has never acted this way before. I was a little hurt and upset over his actions. He also did not allow questions to be presented to him about his tests. (Questions marked wrong). His tests are also worded worded totally different than material presented in class. This is only a 107 course. I would expect that from a 300-400 course.

The text was difficult to understand. I couldn't get the understanding of the text until the instructor explained what it was saying.

The test were difficult and a lot of the questions were hard to understand.

Fernando Quijano did an excellent job explaining economics to the students I learned a lot from this course.

Fernando is an excellent instructor. Even though I am a nursing major he taught the course so I could understand. I actually liked coming to economics.

One thing which would have helped me in this course would be homework. At times there seemed to be so much to absorb. Homework would have been a check to make sure I was understanding correctly.

Fernando has a great knowledge about the subjects he teaches. I believe he is a good teacher and makes the classes interesting. I do not like the way he stressed the importance of this class. Even though it is an important class, it still is only one class of about seven that I am taking. I feel that all the classes I take are important to me and I don't have to be reminded about the importance of a single class. I enjoy taking classes from Mr. Quijano because he makes the subject matter easy to grasp.

Fernando is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic professor! He is very detailed and goes through things at a slow enough pace to describe each and every step entirely. Would definately take another class from him.

The course was very challenging . I feel the instructor taught very effectively. The only recommendation I would make is perhaps rewording some of the test questions. Often times figuring out what the question was asking was more difficult then answering the question.

Fernando is a very knowledgeable instructor whose enthusiasm is greatly reflected on his students. He is a teacher to whom every student should be fortunate to have.

Fernando is a very effective teacher. He teaches at a college level which is good. Sometimes I'd have a hard time on tests because I didn't understand the questions. The way he writes tests are different then what I'll have in my notes. Overall, Fernando is a good instructor and I will take other classes from him.

Comments: I think Mr. Quijano does a very good job of teaching economics. He teaches in a way in which most students can understand the material. Mr. Quijano's exams are challenging but the material on the tests is clearly explained in the class. Mr. Quijano is very friendly and is always willing to help. I would take another class from Mr. Quijano and advise other students to take his classes.

Tests were extremely hard, it did not matter if you studied for 4 hrs. or 6 hrs. and knew the notes and material the test was difficult.

The question were not defined and very confusing to understand.
