FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON107 SPRING94

I've learned more from Mr. Quijano than any other instructor I've ever had. He loves economics and knows the material thoroughly. The only thing I was disappointed about was the % weight of the exams.

I enjoyed taking this course from Dr. Quijano. He was very thorough in establishing an understanding of the material that he was presenting. I did not like the way he pointed out specific students when it came to getting our tests back and think he should have been consistent with setting the 100^th percentile at the lowest score. This only happened once, but when a student is borderline, this could have meant the decline in a grade. His attitude most of the time was pretty positive, but it did appear to decline as the semester progressed.

Fernando is an excellent instructor! He cares about his students and is available for help. He is a definite "plus" to the university.

I feel that for a 107 class Mr. Quijano tries to teach economics in way to much detail. He thinks that everyone is as enthusiastic as he is about economics. His tests are too hard in the fact that he words his questions difficultly, but the material has been presented in classes. I feel that if Mr. Quijano feels that we Americans are lazy, he should not be here. Not everyone has the chance to attend college and not work like he was able to. I think that he is prejudice to Americans and feels that we have it too easy. This class, the way Mr. Quijano instructs it should be a 300 or 400 level class. I would not take another class from him because he favors his "A" students and ridicules his not so good students. He should never mention names. If Mr. Quijano can overcome his believing that we Americans are not lazy and not mention names in class either good or bad. I think that he would be an excellent instructor.

Mr. Quijano is very intelligent in the area of economist his course is very unappropriated for a one-hundred level course. If you can pass this course you understand. I think there is a much easier way to present the information for this class. He also has made some remarks that are uncalled for ex. Americans are lazy.

This course was presented well. I strongly disliked the idea of the final being worth 40% of our grade.
