FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON201 FALL 91
He is a good guy and a nice person. The only problem I had is that he put a lower grade, according to the prestated % amounts in the syllabus, than was supposed to be on a lot of students papers. I know this coursed some anxiety.
I think he is a caring and well educated instructor. He communicates plus interacts well with us.
I believe that this instructor was interested in the progress and performance of his students as was
shown by his enthusiasm and willingness to help students who needed extra help. As far as the
course went, however, I felt that it was a little too "fast-paced" considering the time and amount
of material to be covered through the course.
Comments:
The material for the 1st test was a lot, I think you should add another test to make the first test
with not so much information to know.
Mr. Quijano's teaching was very refreshing. He made the 8AM class enjoyable and he new the material.
His tests could have been a little easier for the freshman student.
Good teacher, make class fun and enjoyable (especially for it being at 8:00 A.M), easy to
understand, good tests.
I find the instructor to be a very caring person, he is very interesting although the subject is
difficult he is able to get it across.
Fernando Quijano shows his interest and enthusiasm for economics through his attitude when
teaching. He is knowledgeable with the course material and teaches it with an up beat and
positive approach.
The examples relating to the topics are very helpful in remembering and Illistrating the ideas. I
tried to take this course with a different Instructor but didn't understand the material nearly so well.
I wish there would be more then 3 tests. To cover all that material made it that much more
difficult. Also, the second test was after the drop date, and that made it that much harder to stay
in the class if you got a bad grade on the first test.
I really like the way you teach. I plan to take 202 next semester with you. I like how you tell us
that something you give us in the notes will be on the exam. I didn't like the length of the tests. I
feel they were too long- it seems like so much for a beginning econ class.
Don't wait so long to have the first Exam. 6 chapters is a bit too much material to attempt to
cover for a first test in an introductory class. Cover about 3 chapters for each exam.
A good job teaching the course, well organized, but test material was well above the level of
lectures to the text.
The lectures, notes, and textbook readings were clear and understandable. However, I feel that
the tests were confusing and terribly difficult because of this. The tests, I thought, were to be
more terminology instead of hypothetical questions.
