Quijano Econ 202 Spring 99

I feel that more definite instructions are necessary for spreadsheet assignments. Perhaps instead of some of the instructions on the syllabus like sleeping in class, etc, an outline of how the spreadsheet project is to be complete could be included. Many students were not aware of being in groups, and instructions changed daily.

I would also like less negative comments about accounting as economics and accounting are both important subjects and each has its place in the world.

To obtain more participation from students. The professor needs to be more sensitive to the students. His aggressiveness dissuades students from participating fully in the classroom as a result of fear of being ridiculed.

However, I must commend Mr. Quijano on his enthusiasm for the course and his wit. I learned quite a lot from this course, and ear say with more assurance that I did in fact learned more about how a country is run.

The graphs were fun and a good thing to do, but we really didn't learn much from them. That is why the test results were so low. We were so worried about getting them done that we really couldn't group their meaning.

You need to re-use your books, we cannot afford different books every semester. Also, because you always switch we can't sell them back. If, as you say, they are all the same, the stick with one and save us a few dollars, we need the help. I know that everyone agrees, but not everyone cares to write it down.

The graphing that we did really wasn't explained thoroughly. We went over it in class but Mr. Quijano kept changing his mind frequently. I t got extremely confusing. If the graph presentation was prepared better, the class would have been more understandable.

I thought the homework assignments were very helpful when it came to taking the test. The hand-on experience helped me to understand and remember the information.

Need to teach more effectively. Expand on concepts are related more to our current economy. Computer assignment did not teach me much of economics.

The assignments we received on graphing in Quatro Pro were very difficult with no real previous experience in that particular program. Also the assignments weren't real clear. Otherwise the course was very difficult but that comes with the subject of Economics.

Mr. Quijano is a very enthusiastic instructor that makes the classroom setting fun.

I think that the graphs in Quatro-Pro should be assigned for every test.

I thought he had a very good understanding of the subject. At times talked above our level, but overall, very good.

I think the graphing exercises were very good for understanding our economy.

Mr. Quijano is an excellent instructor. The notes were clear and defined as so you knew exactly what he expected of you. It is a very good class.

I liked the graph, more on the test would be good!

Instructor should write larger when writing notes on the board. Instructor, do to his knowledge, sometimes lectures are over the students level. Overall an effective teacher and course.

He was very untouchable when it came to students person lives. If you have a problem, don't talk to him about it. He was also open for questions, during class or office hours, don't call him any other time. I also did not like the way he told us to do our homework assignments. When your as busy as I am doing things in a group is not possible. He should understand that and NOT hold it against those of us who do not have the time to work as a group, but can manage ourselves.

I Found this class to be stimulating. I learned many things and believe I will actually remember most of it too. I enjoyed the teacher too.

He is a very good instructor. It was very creative of him to have us do the computer assignments.
