FERNANDO QUIJANO ECON300 FALL96
I liked the class. I felt I learned more during the 3 hr session than the split up class hours.
Tough Course! I think it is good to be challenged, however, I feel as though there should be a "curve" grading system in
this course. This would keep the hard working students in the higher grade categories and the offers in the lower grade
categories. Because of the instructor's vast knowledge of the subject, this would keep the students on even terms.
The course was interesting and informative it made economics seem more real! The 6:00-9:00 seemed a little too
long-especially for a Monday night, but it was manageable.
Fernando did a good job teaching this course. I believe that the hours it was taught also were good. It was nice to only have
to meet once a week and then be done with it. We also covered more material than other semesters.
Great and Wonderful Class and Instructor, would have taken it 2 or 3 times a week instead on 1 a week term.
Tremendous amount of information, articulated very well. If Dickinson State were to use Fernando as a guideline in hiring instructor, this would be the first higher institution in the State of N.D.
Very clear, wants students to be challenged, and still makes every effort to make sure students suceed.
Best overall instructor. I have had in 4 years at DSU. Disappointed that I won't have anymore classes from him.
I have taken several classes form Fernando and I feel he is one of the best instructors at DSU. In his classes you have to
work to get and A. He teaches very well. He is far from being an easy instructor but he is an excellent instructor. I have
learned more from him then from anybody else up here at DSU. I hope DSU appreciates what they have.
Mr. Quijano taught this money and banking course very clearly. He knew exactly how to get the point across to the
students. He is well prepared for class and answers questions very clearly also. Monday nights are a good time to have the
class because you don't have to think about it for the rest of the week.
Fernando knows he subject well and can explain in ways that all can understand. There are no surprises in his classes-he
tells you what he wants and follows thru on what he says.
I don't like the 3 hours of class in one night. Fernando did a good job teaching this class, it was a challenge (as most of his
classes are) but I learned a lot.
Placing this course as a night class was a brilliant decision. Related chapters are taught at the same time which makes
understanding easier. Mr. Quijano is a very helpful instructor and is always willing to help students with academic
problem. I would love to take another class from him in future.
The hours for the course seemed difficult to tie all the information together week to week. I enjoyed seeing how macro,
microeconomics fundamentals tied together with money and banking. Fernando's teaching style makes it pleasant to attend
his classes.
