Theatre Majors and Minors at DSU (page down for Dance)

A major in Theatre is available as either the Bachelor of Arts traditional liberal arts degree which prepares the student for graduate school or professional work in theatre or business or as the Bachelor of Science in Education degree which prepares the student for certification to teach in the secondary school. Both degree programs require a minimum of 38 credits in the major, a minor of at least 18 credits and the 39 credit general education sequence. The BA also requires 16 credits of a language. The BS, of course, requires admission to teacher education and completion of the education sequence of courses culminating in student teaching. Both degrees require a total of at least 128 credits.

Required courses

Three added elective credits to bring the total to 38 credit hours in either program may be chosen
from any COMM, DANC, or THEA course numbered about 200.

A minor in Theatre is available to supplement either a major leading to the Bachelor of Arts traditional liberal arts degree or a major leading to the Bachelor of Science in Education degree. Both minors require a minimum of 24 credits, an approved major of at least 32 credits and the 39 credit general education sequence. The BA also requires 16 credits of a language. The BS, of course, requires admission to teacher education and completion of the education sequence of courses culminating in student teaching. Both degrees require a total of at least 128 credits.

from any THEA course numbered about 200.

A minor in Dance is available to supplement a major leading to the Bachelor of Arts traditional liberal arts degree. It requires a minimum of 25 credits, an approved major of at least 32 credits, the 39 credit general education sequence, and 16 credits of a language. The degree requires a total of at least 128 credits.
