Interlibrary Loan

Stoxen Library provides the students, faculty and staff of Dickinson State University with a full range of interlibrary loan services including loans and article photocopies from libraries worldwide.  

The service is provided at no charge with the following exception: if the material must be obtained from outside of the upper-Midwest region and the library would incur a charge from the lending library, the user is responsible for the charges and is queried as to willingness to pay before the request is processed. 

Request Initiation

ILL forms are available at the library and completed forms may be dropped off at the Main Circulation Desk. Requests are also accepted electronically.  

Stoxen Library patrons are encouraged to use webODIN to initiate loans from a computer while searching ODIN. A barcode ID is required. Your password is your last name.  

In classic ODIN, while displaying a desired title or periodical article, type: 
ILL your barcode number your password date needed  
*Use the DPT command to check the status of your request; for example:  
-- DPT 23104000011122 SMITH  
*To cancel a request, check the status as shown above, then cancel by typing:  
-- ILL CAN 23104000011122 SMITH  

(note : "needed by date" indicates the latest date that you are able to wait for materials; not that the request will be put on hold. Normally, requests are processed on the same day. N/A is an acceptable response when applicable.)  

Arrival notices are sent via mail when a request has arrived and is ready for pickup.
